I decided to draw this one because i was surfing through the web and i came upon a website that showed a photograph of a massive Bullfrog. Well i got inspired by its size and its unique skin texture. I used many drawing techniques to get the right textures in this pencil drawing. Obviously my main focus was to get as much detail as possible on the eye.
One thing that i noticed with frog eyes, is that they are so complex and their design patterns are incredible. As for the skin, i wanted to capture a moist feel to it, which hopefully i was able to do. This drawing measures 2.5"x3.5". Its a pretty small drawing, so i had to add lots of detail is really small areas. I could draw these eyes larger, but i decided to make them this size because it helps in practicing and improving my techniques. It allows me to take my time in adding detail so that when work on a larger drawing i can add much more detail without rushing it. Just like the Tokay Gecko, I wanted the texture to be noticeable.
