Through early paintings and depictions they have been portrayed as great hunters. Lioness are the hunters for a pride and their precision and teamwork makes them as successful as they are. To me the the lioness represents all that is power and determination. Not only are they protective towards their cubs but are fearless in defending their pride against other enemies, especially the hyenas.
I wanted the eyes to have intensity, but also to show the beauty that they possess as well. Cat eyes have some of the most amazing patters and designs and its always great for me to draw them.
